14 & Under Schoolboys:
A great week in Mackay - the 4 representatives from Mudgee did us very proud.
Sam Hain
Sam Rasmussen
Oscar Richardson
Matt Shepherd
Overall the team had 2 wins and 2 losses (the 2 losses were each by 1 run the first to Metro North who went on to win the carnival, the second also by 1 run was to Darling Downs who came 2nd overall). We went on to win the 3rd vs 4th play off yesterday against Peninsula to come 3rd overall. Some exciting cricket to say the least!
Sam H and Sam R have both been chosen to represent Queensland School Boys along with 3 other boys from the South Coast Team - Ben McDermott (Dolphins/TSS), Billy Stanlake (Dolphins) & Shaun Wilson (PB) - not bad getting 5 out of 12 into the side.
Sam Hain was the highest run maker with a total for the week of around 450 (including 3 centuries) and Daniel Pezet (CHI) was the highest wicket taker with 14 (I think?) including one '5 for' against Darling Downs but sadly wasn't chosen to go on and play for Qld.
Can't wait til Charters Towers next weekend so Gold Coast can show their stuff to the rest of the state once again.
