1st Grade – 4 Wins, 1 Loss and 1 Draw sees the Bushmen sitting in 2nd place at the Xmas break. A loss leading in to Xmas was not the best way to end 2008 but encouraging signs out of the loss to Broadbeach were the continued development of Josh Nelson who showed us some real grit along with TJ Miller on the weekend. Some great bowling from Wayno and Corey helped keep us in the game week 1.
The likely return of 3 senior players after the break should see us hit the ground running and hopefully secure a finals berth with a couple of good performances in January. Its game on now as the gap from 1st to 7th is less than an outright win
2nd Grade – The Magoos are sitting 3rd with 5 wins from 7 games and new addition to the team Mohamed made his presence felt on Saturday with 4 for 24 from 8 overs of tweak. Hinzey with 51 helped set the guys up and like the A graders the Magoos need a couple of solid wins in January to start thinking about March action
3rd Grade – the Red team are looking good at the half way mark, 1st place on the table, undefeated and some 17 points clear of 2nd. With Team leader Steve the Banker back from Bangkok the boys racked a up a solid 210 V Runaway Bay and recorded a great victory
The Blue Baggers are back in the race just 1 point out of the four in 5th place. A good team win V Surfers on the weekend sees them with 4 wins and 3 losses, This side has done a great job feeling the brunt of constant team changes due to movement above and to the side so hopefull the young guys can have a fairly settled team after the break and play a role in the finals.
4th Grade – Sharkeys boys - if the ladder was up to date should be 6th just 2 points out of 4th place with the top 8 playing finals.
5th Grade – Red team Full of young guys mostly 14 are having a red hot go each week and showing strong improvement. A few wins are just around the corner
The Blue team had a forfeit on the weekend and sit just outside a spot in the finals race once points are adjusted, Simon and the boys are planning a crack at the top 8 after Xmas so that we hopefully have teams playing in all grades come March and the finals.
Training starts again on the 6th of January with games resuming on the 10th of January.
Stay safe, stick fat and go the Bushmen! |
