st Grade – The Bushmen kicked off 09 in fine fashion, we rolled Runaway Bay with former England Captain Adam Hollioake suiting up for the Bays for just 121. In reply we are 4 for 95. A super fielding effort helped keep the pressure on and Billy Maddison followed up his 5 for against Broady with 4 key wickets. 2 a piece to Butts and Blakey. With the bat Moose opened up the shoulders with a brisk 39 and Josh Nelson just 16 on Saturday offered solid support and is 12 not out. Lets hope for good weather this week.
nd Grade – The Magoos with Kingy, Scooba Steve, H Park and Xmas Carroll all missing in action headed to the Bay where they dismissed the opposition for 144. 4 wickets to Mohamed with his left arm tweakers. Pressure from Matty D and 2 wickets to Snatcha and Doogs provided an achievable target if we batted well. That we did, Glen May 49 for the 2nd time and debutant Shannon Patterson 53 lead the way. Gibbo 12 not out helped Captain Hinze notch another win and the boys sit in 3rd spot 1 win from the top.
rd Grade – The Red Team & The Blue Baggers both suffered from 7 unavailables this round and not surprisingly both suffered defeats. The less said the better, onwards and upwards this week with about 5 quality players back in action.
th Grade – Sharkeys boys – A nice little win to kick off the new year with Ryan King carrying his wicket 28 not out, Kris Corbet 25 & 2 for 26 the helping keep the 4ths in the race for finals action
th Grade – The Reds and the Blues got rolled unfortunately, as stated above 7 players missing at the top effects the bottom no doubt. Dave Haupt 39 and Simon Alker 4 for 10 the best of the day. |
