st Grade – Following on from last weeks great start to 09 the senior Bushmen managed to secure 1st innings points then dismiss the Bay for 140 in 27 overs leaving the door ajar for a possible outright result. Unfortunately this was not to be but a win is a win in any language and we hold on to 2nd spot. The highlight for the social members on the deck was the Yorker Lincoln Blake bowled to Adam Hollioake which smashed the stump in half. Helensvale this week at home again in a must win game
nd Grade – The Magoos without their imperial leader the King Zucchini himself Darren Hinze ventured to Loganholme and managed to restrict them to 135 off 40 overs, 3 wickets to 2nd grade debutant James Harvey and 3 wickets to Snatcha, 25 years Harves senior the standouts. From there it went a little pear shaped. 29 to young Patto and 25 to Doogs the only scores of note, 7 scores in single figures plus an 11 makes it pretty hard and the boys went down by 10 runs. Sitting 3rd still
rd Grade – The Red Team 2 in a row, losses that is, panic perhaps? It’s a funny game cricket they say. Cruising at 2/118 chasing 169 all out for 158 losing the last 5 wickets for around 10 runs. Bowling honors shared around & Gary Lovett made 54 with the bat, Matty Swan 27. still on top it seems thanks to some favorable results.
rd Grade Blue – Steve McQueen would have been proud – talk about the great escape! 8 for 117 chasing 178 for a win, a 14 year old Connor Samios at the wicket coming off a golden duck and a bowler Aaron Alston who is a self confessed battler with the bat put on 64 for the 8th wicket to be both not out Connor 58 and Aaron 40. Connor hit the winning runs in the last over so just a little bit of pressure. The Bushmen Spirit is a wonderful thing, the Blues are now back in 5th spot 1 game off 4th and play Palmy at home this week who are 2 points behind them in a make or break game.
th Grade – Sharkeys boys – went down to Southport but some nice efforts, no scores yet on My Cricket sorry but Bevan Marks made 45 I’m told with the bat at the top of the order.
th Grade – another two losses for the reds and the blues but again some encouraging signs. Matty Shepherd in just his 2nd senior game clocked up 23 batting at 3 and also took 2 wickets opening the bowling with his leggies. The evergreen Gary Stimpson took 3 wickets and Shep senior batting at 11 for discipline reasons remained unbeaten on 16. The very consistent Dave Haupt 33 & Spudly Matheson took 3 wickets |
