st Grade – Last week Hot, Humid and a day best forgot, this week wet wet and wetter. Despite several attempts from Groundskeeper Willy, Butts, Robbie and Wayno a wicket could not be mustered and 3 points was all we could gain V Helensvale. This sets us back somewhat now in 3rd place behind Alberton and Southport with a massive game this week against Palmy who are 1 point behind us in 4ths spot so my advice is get down to Nielsens rd this Saturday to support the Bushmen in droves. Interestingly Alberton and Palmy have had zero draws, Southport 1 draw and the Bushmen 2 draws due to weather so we are going alright considering the extra 6 points we would most likely have won.
nd Grade – A big outright win by the Magoos with Matho 81* and 3 wickets to the fore. King Zucchini Daren Hinze walks away with a broken rib (4 weeks out) courtesy you may think of a rising bouncer to the cage but no, reportedly it was due to his efforts sliding on the covers with all the kids on Australia Day at the club in the rain! 2nds now in 3rd spot just behind Palmy who they play this week.
rd Grade – The Red Team crashed and burned for a 3rd straight loss against Soutport, Tim Coonan the only shinning light with 32. Time to get some confidence back against Broady this week who are 6th and charging towards the top 4.
rd Grade Blue – Always good to do well V Palmy and the Blue Baggers did just that to accumulate 208 on a slow Neilsens 2 on the back of a superb batting display by Hayden Sumner 103 not out. That was last week and they followed up beautifully, 5 wickets to Jason Bishop, 3 to Mick Meertens and support from Luke Fryer & Sam Shepherd. The Blues are now in 4th spot on % and play sides below them for the last 3 rounds
th Grade – Sharkeys boys slipped at the last hurdle V Palmy needing just 1 wicket for a great win. Storky the man in form racked up 70 and Ryan King 25
th Grade – The Blue team went down V Southport, Rob Gula 36 top scored and young Luke Alker took 2 wickets. The young Reds had a shocker only chasing 85 for a win all out for 50 V Runaway Bay
